Some of you knew about this, some of you didn't. In the two years Dan and I have been together marriage has been more a question of if than when, but the the recent troubles getting him across the US border changed that. The one thing that was never in question was that we wanted to be together forever. If a piece of paper was what it took to keep the US government from trying to stop that, then a piece of paper we would have.
That said, the ceremony itself couldn't have turned out better if we'd planned it for years. Through a combination of relaxed attitudes on the part of the bride and groom, immense helpfulness on the part of everyone from the B&B staff right down to the florists, the determined efforts of both families to make us happy, and a heaping dose of luck, we had a wedding which was not only perfectly suited to our personalities (small, private, well-victualed) but also hella good fun for all involved. Pictures will follow as soon as we glean them from all involved cameras.
And now I am married, which hasn't entirely sunk in yet.
However: Still Not Grown Up.

Congratulations, Kat! I found your blog via Agent 007's--I've been perusing it for a little bit. And from what I've read? You just got yourself a brand new reader/fan, my friend.
Also, I'm about to join the "just married" ranks myself in another 2 months and I feel you on that "we're doing it for the damn piece of paper." Ours isn't due to US border issues, though. I just felt like getting people off our dang backs already. And I needed a party.
Going to read some more but I'll be back again. :-)

I'm incredibly glad for the both of you, and I wish you all the best for the years to come.
(As for introductions: I figured this was a pretty good reason to de-lurk. Was pointed towards you by Dan a while back, and have been reading along since. Hello.)

You too, huh? I've stopped myself from looking you up so many times, but i guess the insomnia brough on my my younger child kicking me out f my own bed got the better of me. I'm sory for everything that wan't perfect, and still remember everything that was. Any malice you may still bear for me is deserved, I'm sure. Don't worry, I won't stick arround and lurk now that I've found you....just pop up this once and now fade back into the ethers.
Congratulations, and may you life be everything that is hoped for you.

Of all the people I expected to pop up and add a comment to an old post, you're about the last. :)
Your youngest, huh? Well, that's something you've beat me to at least. And of course I don't hold any malice towards you. When I think of you, it's with a great deal of affection and a little regret that we lost each other quite so completely.
I note you haven't left me an email address, so I won't push, but if you do feel the urge I'd be happy to get a line or a call from you every now and then. You were a good friend to me first and most, and I haven't had so many good friends that I let them go happily. Either way, I hope you're well, and happy, and have found yourself a good place to be.
And that you're still driving Volvos. :)
